Placement Options
Implant placement depends on the look you want, your existing breast tissue, and your lifestyle.

Implants placed over the pectoral muscle create more upper breast fullness, quicker recovery, and no implant motion associated with muscle contraction. This method also allows better control of cleavage and is becoming more popular across the country.

Implants placed under the pectoral muscle have a more natural upper breast appearance. This is the most common placement of implants in America, however in Europe it is much less common. It is also a quicker procedure.

Dr. Dorner will help you determine the most appropriate placement for the look you want to achieve, the size and shape of the implants you choose, and your lifestyle.

Implant Options
Every woman has unique goals and preferences for her breast augmentation. That’s why we offer three distinct implant options to help you achieve your dream results: Saline, Silicone Boost, and Silicone Motiva.

  • Saline implants are filled with sterile saltwater, offering a firmer feel. They’re a reliable choice for women who prefer a defined look for their breast implants.
  • Silicone Boost gummy bear implants deliver maximum fullness and upper pole enhancement, creating the dramatic, lifted effect of a push-up bra. If your goal is striking cleavage and bold curves, this is the implant for you.
  • Silicone Motiva gummy bear implants have an ergonomic design that mimics natural breast tissue. You can choose a more natural breast contour, or a round implant which provides more upper pole fullness.

Size Options
Implant size is determined based on the volume of silicone or saline used (measured in cubic centimeters or cc). We can match an implant to a particular bra you want to fit or simply use your goals and body structure as guides.

Shape Options
The majority of our patients prefer round implants, which add a little more fullness to the upper breast.

Teardrop-shaped implants (also called form-stable implants) give a more natural contour to the upper part of the breast.

 

Profile Options
Profile is how much projection you want your breasts to have when viewed from the side. It determines how far the breast extends from the chest wall when viewed from the side.  We offer profile options to help Dr. Dorner customize your look based on your body structure and aesthetic goals.

3D Imaging

Ask your patient coordinator how you can take a look at your virtual results. Allergan provides 3D imaging through Crisalix. Remember that actual results may vary. Imaging works best for those patients that do not need a lift.

Essential Details

Results

You should see results within two to three weeks depending on swelling.

Pain

Our patients report moderate pain levels during recovery. A compression bra will minimize swelling and promote proper healing. Swelling and bruising will gradually subside a few days after the surgery.

Scars

Dr. Dorner strives to minimize all scarring. Incision location will determine potential scarring.

Incision Location

Incisions may be placed in the armpit, around the areola, or under the breast.

Anesthesia

Breast augmentations are performed under general anesthesia.

Downtime

We recommend taking one week or less to return to work and limiting activity for 2-6 weeks depending on placement of the implant (above or below the muscle).

Recovery

3-5 days on pain medication.
