About Butt Augmentation
Sometimes the size you wish your rear end to be is just not possible because of genetic makeup, no matter how many squats you do. In these cases, a gluteoplasty can assist you in obtaining a more proportionate and sexy body contour. Butt augmentation, or gluteoplasty, is a cosmetic surgery that utilizes silicone implants to add volume to your buttocks to increase projection and shape. Both men and women nowadays desire the sensuous look of a fuller rear end, which is why Dorner Plastic Surgery in Columbus, OH is excited to offer butt augmentation surgery with silicone implants. One advantage of silicone implants over fat grafting is that the silicone augments muscle. Fat grafting augments fat, which does not give the same result as augmenting the muscle. For most patients, Dr. Dorner prefers the silicone augmentation because of the firmer, more athletic result. If you desire fuller curves, our skilled plastic surgeon Dr. Brian Dorner can create an individualized treatment plan that will address your unique concerns. About Hip Implants
Hip implants have become much more popular in the past few years. They are designed to help augment the curves of the outer thigh and their increase in popularity has been due to the recent rise in buttock augmentation. Since the hips are a natural extension of the buttock, it provides improved shape and definition to further improve the patient’s contours. Many women who have a flat or boxy figure will use them to improve the curve of the hip. Patients who have areas of depression on the hips or leg also benefit greatly by filling in areas of depression caused by surgical or other trauma. Additionally, transgender individuals looking for more feminine curves are also excellent candidates.
These implants, unlike most body implants, are placed above the muscle. In some instances, they may be placed within the muscle fascia, but this is less typical. The incision is only 4 – 5 centimeters long and is placed within the underwear line to be discreet. These implants are all custom implants, and they can either be sculpted before surgery or a CT scan can be used to make custom designed, computer modeled implants depending upon the patient’s preference.

"I wish I could give more than five stars; AMAZING experience! I've struggled to build muscle/bulk in certain areas of my body my whole life and decided it was time to take action. For about 6 months, I researched options and plastic surgeons, mostly based in LA and NY. I luckily stumbled across Dr. Dorner in my search and I'm so glad I found him. The whole staff is very friendly, supportive, smart and very accommodating. Dr. Dorner made recommendations based on the results I was trying to achieve and I have to say, he knocked it out of the park. I highly recommend Dorner Plastic Surgery."- R.C. / Google / Nov 23, 2019

"When All else Fails - If you've read my first procedure review, you know what's happening. If not, I'll give a brief synopsis for you.Back in 2016; I worked my a** off, literally. After losing 90 pounds I was left with stubborn belly fat and saggy skin around my abdomen. It was really affecting me and my view of my body. I worked extremely hard and felt I had nothing to show for it. Enter in, Dr. Dorner.I had my tummy tuck with muscle repair and liposuction done in September of 2016. 12 weeks into recovery..........Pregnant.I was extremely worried. I had just had this major abdominal surgery and now it was going to be undone; would it be okay for the baby, is it going to be too tight, would there be any complications? I had an amazing OB/GYN and it turned out her brother is a plastic surgeon. She said that she has had several patients that have had a tummy tuck and then had babies, with little complications, although they hadn't been as soon after.Long story short, everything turned out fine. I was fine, baby was fine (although she was breech and we couldn't get her to turn - no matter how hard we tried) and she was born in August of 2017.During my pregnancy I gained about 29 pounds. After my pregnancy, I gained additional weight. You know....new baby, whatever sleep I could get, nursing..these things took priority. I have managed to lose 23 pounds. So that's great, but it hasn't been lost from where I want. I've been trying hard, not as hard as before but still hard and the fats just not budging.I saw Dr. Dorner today for a consultation; after looking at the areas around my hips, he agreed and said he could perform liposuction with no issues. He did ask if I had had any drastic weight loss prior to my tummy tuck because I have more skin than he'd expect for someone who gained a small amount during pregnancy. I can't fault him for asking, I doubt he remembers my previous history, so I said yes. He briefly mentioned a posterior body tuck which I guess is like a tummy tuck for the backside. No thanks. Just the lipo please. I can live with my cellulite and not have to finance a down payment on a house. The quote was less than I imagined so I'm fairly certain this is going to happen. Just have to plan when; it looks like it will be shortly before mother's day, he's good at what he does and books out pretty far, plus it'll be my gift to myself."- M. / RealSelf / Mar 10, 2020
"I had an amazing experience undergoing Ultherapy with Christine at Dorner Plastic Surgery. I was a bit worried about the pain going into the treatment, however, Christine was able to keep my discomfort to an absolute minimum. I would highly recommend this non-invasive, essentially painless treatment!"- A.S. / Google / Jan 18, 2020

Butt Augmentation Surgical Technique
Dorner Plastic Surgery offers a variety of implant shapes and sizes to accommodate your needs. The implants we use are solid, silicone elastomer implants since they provide the most natural look and feel. There are numerous types of implants available today. These details will be discussed in detail during your initial consult where Dr. Dorner will be able to help you select the implants that best complement your unique silhouette. The incision is places between the gluteal cleft to hide it from view. I do not place the incision above or below the buttocks themselves. These incisions are unnecessarily visible. The implants are placed within the gluteal muscle to camouflage and protect the implants. Drains are used to help remove any fluid that may accumulate. The incisions will then be sutured and bandaged. Butt augmentation is typically performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure, therefore not requiring an overnight stay.
What to Expect with Butt Augmentation
After your procedure, you may feel sore and experience bruising and swelling for several days. Drains will stay in place for a week to allow blood and fluid to empty properly for optimal healing. You are typically able to return to daily activities within 2 – 3 weeks, but strenuous exercise should be avoided for 6 – 8 weeks. Dr. Dorner is highly skilled in placing implants for a fuller backside, so many patients are pleased to find the scars are nearly invisible. Since the incisions are placed within the natural crease of the buttocks, you can feel even more confident and sexy in your bikinis knowing that your scars are not visible to the naked eye. You should stick to a healthy diet and exercise regimen to maintain optimal results.
Butt Augmentation Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a butt augmentation procedure cost?
The price of a butt augmentation procedure will vary based on many factors. During your initial consultation, a customized treatment plan will be created to fit your needs and budget. Dorner Plastic Surgery accepts many payment options and low-interest medical financing to make your procedure as affordable as possible.
Do butt implants last longer than fat transfer?
In your consultation, the benefits of each procedure will be discussed by Dr. Dorner so you can decide which one is right for you based on your needs and goals. He will discuss how you can maintain the results of a fat transfer and implants so you can decide which method will be easier for you. Gluteal implants can last forever. Some patients may require a revision in the future. In both procedures, it is important for you to stay at a healthy, stable weight after surgery.
Will weight gain affect my results?
Any amount of significant weight gain can affect the results of your butt augmentation procedure. Both the contour and shape of your buttocks can be altered through weight gain. Therefore, it is important to maintain a healthy diet and exercise routine in order to help preserve the results of your butt augmentation.
What can I expect during my recovery?
During the first 2 – 3 weeks following your butt augmentation procedure, you may experience some discomfort as your body heals. You need to discontinue strenuous physical activity until told by Dr. Dorner. Additionally, you will need to attend follow-up appointments during your recovery period so that he can assess the area to ensure that you are healing properly.
What is the difference between a butt augmentation and a Brazilian butt lift?
A traditional butt augmentation uses silicone implants. A Brazilian butt lift (BBL) transfers fat from one area of the body into the buttocks. Candidates for a Brazilian butt lift must have enough fat for transfer. If you do not have enough excess fat throughout your body, butt augmentation may be your best treatment option.
