Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Brian Dorner proudly offers men and women in the Dublin and Columbus, OH areas a unique and effective way to lose weight. With the Orbera gastric balloon, helps individuals feel fuller faster when eating. As a new method for assisted weight loss, Orbera is an expandable silicon device that is placed in the stomach temporarily. It is then filled with a safe solution, to initiate the feeling of fullness. Several studies on the Orbera balloon have shown that patients typically lose around three times the amount of weight than with diet and exercise alone. Prior to recommending Orbera, Dr. Dorner will fully assess your current lifestyle and your weight loss goals, as well as your overall health, to determine if it is the right procedure for you. Orbera Gastric Balloon Ideal Candidates
Ideal candidates for the Orbera gastric balloon must understand the principles of a healthy diet and exercise regimen prior to undergoing a procedure. Typically, individuals who receive Orbera are looking to lose weight but are struggling to do so through the traditional routes. They may also desire a less invasive procedure compared to other surgical options for promoting weight loss. During a thorough consultation, Dr. Dorner and his team will talk with you about your anticipated results and identify whether you would be a good candidate for Orbera.
Orbera Gastric Balloon Procedure Technique
For the Orbera procedure, the balloon will be inserted through the mouth and no incisions are required. Once the balloon is in the proper position in the stomach, it will be filled with the solution of saline until it resembles the size of a grapefruit. The balloon will be able to move freely around the stomach, allowing less room in the stomach so that the patient can feel fuller while eating smaller portions.
"My surgery was great. No issues and had a good recovery time. The staff was great, especially the 2 girls at the counter. I’ll be back in the future!"- J.B. / Google / Mar 18, 2020
"I wish I could give more than five stars; AMAZING experience! I've struggled to build muscle/bulk in certain areas of my body my whole life and decided it was time to take action. For about 6 months, I researched options and plastic surgeons, mostly based in LA and NY. I luckily stumbled across Dr. Dorner in my search and I'm so glad I found him. The whole staff is very friendly, supportive, smart and very accommodating. Dr. Dorner made recommendations based on the results I was trying to achieve and I have to say, he knocked it out of the park. I highly recommend Dorner Plastic Surgery."- R.C. / Google / Nov 23, 2019
"When All else Fails - If you've read my first procedure review, you know what's happening. If not, I'll give a brief synopsis for you.Back in 2016; I worked my a** off, literally. After losing 90 pounds I was left with stubborn belly fat and saggy skin around my abdomen. It was really affecting me and my view of my body. I worked extremely hard and felt I had nothing to show for it. Enter in, Dr. Dorner.I had my tummy tuck with muscle repair and liposuction done in September of 2016. 12 weeks into recovery..........Pregnant.I was extremely worried. I had just had this major abdominal surgery and now it was going to be undone; would it be okay for the baby, is it going to be too tight, would there be any complications? I had an amazing OB/GYN and it turned out her brother is a plastic surgeon. She said that she has had several patients that have had a tummy tuck and then had babies, with little complications, although they hadn't been as soon after.Long story short, everything turned out fine. I was fine, baby was fine (although she was breech and we couldn't get her to turn - no matter how hard we tried) and she was born in August of 2017.During my pregnancy I gained about 29 pounds. After my pregnancy, I gained additional weight. You know....new baby, whatever sleep I could get, nursing..these things took priority. I have managed to lose 23 pounds. So that's great, but it hasn't been lost from where I want. I've been trying hard, not as hard as before but still hard and the fats just not budging.I saw Dr. Dorner today for a consultation; after looking at the areas around my hips, he agreed and said he could perform liposuction with no issues. He did ask if I had had any drastic weight loss prior to my tummy tuck because I have more skin than he'd expect for someone who gained a small amount during pregnancy. I can't fault him for asking, I doubt he remembers my previous history, so I said yes. He briefly mentioned a posterior body tuck which I guess is like a tummy tuck for the backside. No thanks. Just the lipo please. I can live with my cellulite and not have to finance a down payment on a house. The quote was less than I imagined so I'm fairly certain this is going to happen. Just have to plan when; it looks like it will be shortly before mother's day, he's good at what he does and books out pretty far, plus it'll be my gift to myself."- M. / RealSelf / Mar 10, 2020
"I had an amazing experience undergoing Ultherapy with Christine at Dorner Plastic Surgery. I was a bit worried about the pain going into the treatment, however, Christine was able to keep my discomfort to an absolute minimum. I would highly recommend this non-invasive, essentially painless treatment!"- A.S. / Google / Jan 18, 2020

What to Expect with Orbera Gastric Balloon
Following the insertion of the Orbera balloon, you may experience some nausea and/or vomiting. However, this will begin to subside as your body adjusts to the device. The balloon will remain in the stomach for six months before it is removed. Typically, most patients lose the majority of their weight within the first few months following their procedure. It is also important that they stick to a healthy diet and lifestyle after the balloon is removed in order to maintain their results.
