The Smart, Safe Way to Remove a Tattoo

Tattoo removal shouldn’t leave your skin looking damaged or discolored. Our team is trained in the latest laser techniques to deliver real results safely and effectively. We want you to feel confident in your skin again without compromising health or appearance.
Laser tattoo removal works by using focused light energy to break up ink particles beneath the skin’s surface. Your body’s immune system then gradually clears these particles over time. Treatments use laser photothermolysis, which precisely targets pigment without significantly damaging the surrounding tissue.

The Pico Laser Advantage

Not all tattoo removal lasers work the same way. Traditional devices break up ink using pulses measured in nanoseconds. Our Pico laser fires in picoseconds, roughly a thousand times faster, which fractures pigment into finer particles your body can absorb and flush away on its own.
  • A shorter path to clear skin: Smaller ink particles are easier for your lymphatic system to process, so many patients see progress in fewer visits than older laser technology typically requires.
  • Built for the tattoos that resist fading: Blues, greens, and purples have always been notoriously stubborn under conventional lasers. The Pico’s speed gives it an edge on exactly these tones.
  • A more forgiving treatment for your skin: Less heat reaches the surrounding tissue during each pulse, which generally translates to a lower chance of scarring or dark/light spots after healing.
  • Quick, tolerable sessions: Most patients describe the sensation as comparable to older lasers, sometimes milder, and appointments move fast.

How Many Tattoo Removal Treatments Will I Need?

Tattoo removal is a gradual process, and most patients require 12 or more sessions spaced 4 to 12 weeks apart depending on the location of the tattoo. Several factors influence how many treatments you will need:
  • Ink color: Black ink responds the fastest. Colors like green, blue, and red take longer.
  • Ink style: Script tattoos (names, lettering, ring finger tattoos) tend to require more sessions.
  • Tattoo age: Older tattoos typically fade more quickly. Fresh tattoos should wait 6 to 8 weeks before beginning removal.
  • Skin tone: Darker skin types require lower, protective settings to preserve melanocytes, which can extend the process.
  • Ink depth and density: Cover-up tattoos are denser and deeper, requiring additional treatments.
  • Body location: Chest and above can be treated every 4 to 6 weeks. Chest to hips every 6 weeks. Lower legs require 8 to 12 weeks between sessions.
During your consultation, your treatment specialist will assess these factors and create a realistic timeline for your removal.

What to Expect Before, During, and After Tattoo Removal

Before Your Session
Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for 2 weeks prior to treatment. Arrive with clean skin (no lotions, perfumes, or makeup on the treatment area). Stay hydrated and support your immune system, as it plays a direct role in clearing ink from your body.
During Treatment
Sessions range from a few minutes to 30 minutes depending on tattoo size. Expect a snapping sensation similar to a rubber band, followed by mild burning that typically subsides within an hour. Cooling is applied throughout to keep you comfortable.
After Your Session
Some redness, swelling, and blistering is normal and expected. Apply ice the first day, keep the area clean, and use Aquaphor as directed. Do not pick scabs or blisters, and avoid soaking in pools, baths, or hot tubs until healed. Avoid sun exposure for 2 weeks after treatment and use SPF 30+ once the area has healed.

Who Should Not Receive Tattoo Removal Treatment?

Tattoo removal may not be appropriate for everyone. We do not treat:
  • Pregnant individuals
  • Those with active skin infections in the treatment area
  • Patients on immunosuppressant medications (healing may be slower and hypopigmentation risk is higher)
  • Diabetics should disclose their condition, as healing may be slower

How Much Does Laser Tattoo Removal Cost?

The cost of your tattoo removal treatment depends on the size of your tattoo and the number of sessions to reach your goal. We’ll create a personalized treatment plan during your consultation, which will help us estimate costs.
